My Heart Just Skipped a Beat

I walk by Salvatore Ferragamo fairly regularly during my lunch break.  For the last few weeks, one pair of (gorgeous) shoes have stopped me in my tracks every time I walk by.  Sigh.

Tis the Season...

For sample sales!  Oh and Thanksgiving. ;)  It's sample sale season and holiday market season and generally a wonderful time of year for finding one-of-a kind pieces or scoring beautifully made pieces for a fraction of the price.  Last week there were sample sales at Tibi, Nanette Lepore, and Theory.  The Tibi sample sale was epic. 

The most important thing about sample-saling is that you have to get there early.  I went to the Tibi sample sale twice int he first day.  By the end of the day at least one-third of the product offering was completely sold out.

Only $50!  Heart.

 Lucky shops is the December 6-8.  It is going to be the sample sale to end sample sales.  I'll be there... will you?

Running Style

UPDATED:
In case you haven't yet heard, the ING New York City Marathon has been cancelled.  It's a controversial decision but very likely for the best.  I as going to volunteer at the finish line but instead I think I'll try to volunteer for the relief effort. 

In any case, in honor of the marathon, I give you some of my favorite running outfits, seen while on the run.   Enjoy.

There are always interesting characters during the big races.  I remember one year being passed by a man dressed as an ostrich.

Kara Goucher's signature accessory is the titanium necklace that you see here.  I don't know if titanium necklaces or bracelets actually work but she's good advertising for it.

Hat and Boots

Saturday, pre-Hurricane Sandy, was a lovely fall day.  I headed to Soho to window shop and caved and got the boots.  Get the dress here.

I've picked two pairs of shoes to go to Goodwill.  Eventually, I'll set up a shop kiki page for my excess pieces.

Pamela Love(s) Nine West

I walk by Nine West everyday on my way home from work.  Then last week I saw these in the window and it stopped me in my tracks.

Um, seriously, how boss are these boots?

My immediate adoration was explained when I learned that these boots (which also come in brown and red) are the result of a collaboration between Nine West and Pamela Love.

Pamela Love makes beautiful, bold and edgy statement jewelry.  She can take a claw or a skull or sharp shapes and make them feminine and strong. Her work is amazing.

Moral of the story is... I heard Pamela Love.  Pamela Love hearts Nine West.  Oh, and I.want.these.boots.

There's just one little thing... brown or black?  And what 2 pairs of shoes am I going to give up?

Fashion's Night Out

Fashion's Night Out is one of my favorite annual New York events (along with Lucky shops, the DVF sample sale and the ING NYC marathon).  This year, I hit up Meatpacking for FNO.  The drinks, the eats, the CLOTHES!  Sigh, I love FNO.
